51 Things About...Me.

Just because 51 is my favorite number. (Does that make it 52 things?)

I have so many blog posts in the works and I'm just at a loss on how to finish most of them, so in the interim, I thought I'd just toss out some random info, you know, just to pass the time and fill in where my blog left off...four months ago. Yikes!

1. My kitchen is a terminal wreck.
2. Unless guests are coming over.
3. I have a list of things I'll probably never get around to doing.
4. I really, really love a bargain.
5. I have a fairly lousy sense of direction. 
6. I love being older, but not necessarily getting older. 
7. In college, I was a Child Development major. 
8. I can't decide if I want to go back to school. 
9. I think my family is all that and a bag of chips. 
10. Centipedes freak me right out. 
11. But I'm not afraid of mice. 
12. I still love to roller-skate. 
13. I have been to Canada and 21 of the 50 states. 
14. I am not even close to being a "morning person". 
15. Sometimes, I just gotta siiiiiing!
16. I hate the sound of the harpsichord. 
17. I rarely cry. 
18. I find many things inappropriately funny. 
19. I use proper punctuation in my texts. 
20. It bothers me to no end when words that are supposed to be spelled with a "C" are spelled with a "K" to be cute. I mean Kute. 
21. I am also a grammar nerd. 
22. I want my kids to be grammar nerds too. 
23. I'm still a raging band geek.
24. I love cats.
25. And horses. 
26. I don't like big dogs. 
27. Or small, yappy ones. 
28. Driving in big cities scares me. 
29. I hum in public places. 
30. I have dear friends from all over the world. 
31. Many of them I have yet to meet in person. 
32. I know for sure who my best friend is. 
33. I hate tacky lawn "art", especially concrete gnomes and garden grannies. 
34. Long-term planning bores me. 
35. I have terrible hair. 
36. I haven't watched the news on TV in years. 
37. I refuse to watch any television show marketed as "reality". 
38. I usually don't know where to find things right when I need them. 
39. I wish I knew how to speak Italian. 
40. Before this blog, I started three children's books. 
41. I haven't finished any of them. 
42. I like to be spontaneous. 
43. I was rarely inside a mini-van until we had kids. 
44. We  bought one as soon as we had our first child, which in retrospect seems like overkill. 
45. It was totaled in the only car accident I've ever been in. 
46. In almost 30 years of driving, I've only gotten one speeding ticket. 
47. Which is an incredible streak of luck. 
48. I love swimming.
49. I loathe winter.
50. I am amazed by and thoroughly enjoy technology. 
51. But I will never, ever, ever understand how any of it works!
